What is Success? The state of happiness? Having lots of money in your savings account? Having a number of servants serving you? Success itself has a very flexible meaning and it cannot be defined precisely. The definition of success varies from person to person. In my personal opinion “success is to define a goal, make an action plan and work to accomplish the goal. When I achieve the goal, I should feel excited and should not have a feeling of regret”.

What is success to one may not be same for somebody else. What is a major achievement for one may not be a major achievement to somebody else. Confused? What I am trying to point out is everybody have their own definition of success. When you think about the success, you think about the achievements of your own. So your success has nothing to with the success of somebody else, as because the meaning of success varies from people to people. What you feel is a success for you, may not be a success for other; it may be a feeling of accomplishment of a task. So when you compare your success next time with the success of somebody else remember this.

How to Achieve Success?
There is an excellent quote I saw somewhere “Motivation is what gets you started, Habit is what keeps you going”. Believe me! The moment I saw this quote I wrote it on a paper and from that day onwards, these lines are in front of my eye, on my table. If you can understand and follow this quote, it could be a life changing mantra.

Motivation is what gets you started
I am not sure what keeps you motivated, but you must be agree with me as far as the above quote is concerned. We cannot expect to get success instantly. Achieving success takes a lot of mental and physical efforts, and a very strong determination. During the journey to success a situation may come where you feel discouraged, helpless and here comes the vital and important role of motivation. If you are a motivated person you will not give up, your mind will not allow you to give up and you will succeed. Motivation is what gets you started. Motivation is a very important factor when you wish to achieve success.

How to stay motivated always? It’s a very big question asked by one of my friend when I was discussing with him about the motivation and its role in achieving what you want to achieve.

A Single word answer to this question could be the “Positive Thinking”. Feeding your mind with all the positive thoughts. Positive thinking to lead a motivated and healthy life can change your perspective. It can act as a booster towards achieving your personal and professional growth. Positive thinking can be done using good thoughts, eliminating negative thoughts, reading good books, articles, quotes by famous authors.

Positive thinking enables you to develop the ability to make better decisions to achieve better results in your personal and professional life. Positive thinking enables you to visualize and see a healthy life ahead of you and it help you to keep yourself motivated to achieve these things in your life. Almost every successful people on the planet earth have passed through this phase sometime or the other. When they were about to succeed, they felt like they are lost, there is no other way. What do you think they gave up and returned back with a feeling of failure? You are right! They never gave up and they struggled and succeeded in life. How do you think they kept themselves fighting, with the help of self motivation.

Habit is what keeps you going
Habit is doing same thing for a long time. In other words you can say doing something regularly and frequently is something we called as a habit. When you start doing something regularly, it becomes your habit. E.g. Morning tea, reading newspaper etc. When you develop good habits, it plays a very important and vital role in pushing you towards achieving the success. If you want to achieve success, you have to develop a habit of positive thinking, you have to develop a habit of completing your day to day tasks that you define for yourself.

Often people try to change many things at the same time and this result in a part accomplishment and finally it becomes overwhelming. But if you want to achieve success, develop a habit of working on one thing at a time. Define tasks for yourself and complete the task unless you begin another task. This will be a very good experience for you and you will not feel stressed and bored. You will feel excited to commence the next task and it help in keeping your self motivated.
