Tip #1- Stay Active:
Do your normal workout and more, like walking through the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights!

Tip #2- Holiday Cheer, hold the fat please:
The workplace can be torturous during the holiday months. A good way to avoid the holiday junk food overload is by making your own healthier treats so high-calorie desserts don’t tempt you. Put a new spin on some old favorites, or find a tasty replacement.

Tip #3-Do The Math:
Think about this: if you eat 300 calories more per day than usual from Thanksgiving to New Years you will have gained about 5 pounds.

Tip #4- Shopping:
Yes, you read right. Shopping can be a great low-impact, cardio workout. A walk around the mall, searching for or exchanging Christmas gifts can easily add up to 3 miles before you know it. Just steer clear of the food court.

Tip #5-Spoil your dinner:
Avoid binges by eating before attending the party. Eat a small salad, a cup of healthy low fat/low sodium soup or an IAW protein bar or drink before attending a party. Then survey the food table before you start filling up your plate. Deciding what you really want & what you can absolutely live without first which will keep you from regretting your food choices later.

Tip #6-Resolution Time:
Make a PRE New Years Resolution. Everybody resolves to eat healthier, exercise more & lose weight starting January 1st. Start now and you can be on your way to breaking bad habits & adopting healthier ones by the time the New Year rolls around.

Tip #7- Don’t skip your workout:
Don’t get so busy that you let your exercise routine become a low priority. It’s more important now than ever to fit that 30-45 minutes into your schedule at least 3 times a week.
