1. Rough outline of notepad design
The first most important element in your design for a notepad is your rough outline. This can be your initial sketch of your custom notepad, or maybe a sample notepad you got from the Internet. Whatever the case, this will help you guide yourself into actually creating your custom notepad draft. It will be harder once you are actually facing that design screen, so get that rough sketch going first as a guide.
2. Professional notepad template
The next thing that you will probably need is a professional notepad template. There are many different sizes and shapes for color notepads. A lot of these can be customized, but most people choose from some standard and professionally used notepad templates. You can even get one for free if you look at notepad printing companies or other types of printers out there. Just choose the right notepad template with the right size and shape for your purpose.
3. Header and footer text
Before you start your designing of custom notepads, you might want to compose your header and footer text. It will be hard and will take a longer time if you do it and check it mid-design. So it is important that you create the text content for the footer and header already before any kind of design is started. This should streamline your process further with notepad printing.
4. Full color logos and other supporting images
Also, you should try to acquire already all the other minor images that you need. Make sure you try to get full color logos, clip-arts and actual representative images that will build upon your header and footer text. These should help you establish your authority as well as your real identity in your full color notepads. Try to get at least one logo for yourself and then probably a supporting image for the header and footer just in case you need them.
5. Watermark/Background
Lastly, you will also need to prepare a watermark or a background image in your flyer design. This allows you to make your color notepads interesting by avoiding plain white as the dominant color of your notepads. Light color shades typically add that emotional and causal element to business notepads that make them more interesting and appealing. So if you want your custom notepads to not be THAT boring, then you should use a watermark or a different background for your notepad so that it pops out and becomes more memorable.
Now you know what you need to create good custom notepad. Make sure that you gather and refine perfectly all these important elements so that they can combine to form the best color notepads out there for your market. Keep in mind though that typically it is tough competition out there with notepads, so make sure you know to make your color notepads distinctly visible in the eyes of readers.
