You have probably been thinking about making a website for a long time now, but you are not sure how to get it off the ground. A great place to start is finding out which web hosting service that you are going to use. For those who are not familiar with web hosting, it is necessary for any website one the internet to be hosted somewhere somehow. Here, I will show you the necessary steps in order to choose the best web hosting service.

Step 1: Which type of Web Hosting is Right for Me?

There are many different types of web hosting services out there, so you have to realize the different types are to determine which one is right for you. We will go over shared hosting first. This is the most common form of web hosting, in which your website is hosted remotely in a managed server. This is a good choice if you are hosting a blog or another low traffic type of site. You can expect to pay anywhere from $5 a month to $15 a month, depending on the security features.

The next main type of web hosting is dedicated server hosting. This is when you have a certain amount of space allotted for your website, but you will not be sharing space with other websites. This is a good choice if you are going to have a more secure site that you do not want to interfere with other websites. You can expect to pay over $20 a month for this type of web hosting

The last type of web hosting that I will talk about is ecommerce web hosting. This type of hosting is great for an online business that wants to have a shopping cart setup within their website. Most ecommerce hosting companies will have the software necessary in order to get your shopping cart going. This type of web hosting will run you from $20 up to $200 a month depending on what type of services you want packaged in.

Step 2: Do your research

This is an important step that should not be overlooked, especially considering how saturated the web hosting market is. If you type in "best web hosting companies" into google, countless pages of web host ranking websites and web hosting sites will pop up, but you have to fish out the good ones.

For Example: These days, one of my favorite signs of a good web host is looking at what type of support that they have. I will not sign up for a web hosting company that does not have 24/7 chat support. For me, chat support is important because often I do my website editing at odd hours, and the last thing on my mind is waiting on the phone for hours on end. Chat support is very fast and can be operated while you are working on your site.

Another good tell of a good web hosting company is the type of shared hosting that they have. Most web hosting services offer unlimited hosting for a very low price, but some sites will try to limit the size and traffic that your site brings in. Before signing up, make sure you read through the user licensing agreement to confirm that there is nothing fishy about what your are getting ready to get yourself into.

Step 3: Have you already bought your web name?

Since the competition is so stiff in the web hosting category, sites are starting to get outrageous with the perks of going through them for your web hosting needs. Another one of my favorites is web name included hosting sites.

These sites will include a web name with the price of purchasing your web hoisting services, which will eliminate the need to buy a web name and then transfer to your new hosting site. Although its not that bad to transfer your web name to your new web hosting site, it is a great deal easier to get the web name with the same site as your hosting services. Once you already have your site up and running, you can usually purchase a new domain name from your hosting company for a cheaper price than the competition.

Step 4: Narrow your choices

By now, you probably have a feel for about three of the best web hosting services for your situation. Narrowing down to three is probably the best choice, that way you can compare and contrast your needs and which company best fits your needs.

The most popular and most advertised web hosting sites are not always the best of the best. These companies pump endless amounts of money into advertising for their sites, so you understand that they have to cut costs somewhere. Just make sure that all the details are in place and most of the necessary things are unlimited such as bandwidth, data transfer, and data storage.

You have done it! You have chosen the best web hosting company for your needs and you can now get your name out there and start doing business in the modern world. Just remember, finding the right web hosting company that fits your needs is the goal here. Don't be fooled by the large marketing and advertising budgets, just find out what is best for you. Find the best web hosting company is not hard, but it takes some time and thought with the saturated market. Good Luck
